When people think of camping, they typically only consider summertime activities. You’ve been perspiring in those clothing whether you know it or not, and when you lay down to sleep at night, that perspiration will be frigid! Change out of whatever you were wearing that day and put on new, dry clothing layers! And add more layers if you need to!
2. Bring a stocking cap to bed
Don’t let that head hang out there! It’s no secret that heat escapes from the top of your head, so wear a stocking cap to bed to keep that heat to yourself. Layer up your head!
3. Purchase a really fantastic sleeping bag
Did you know that sleeping bags with thermal lining are available for cold climates? I would strongly advise purchasing one or two of them if you intend to go winter tent camping frequently. They’re not just made to keep you warm; they’ll do it quickly and effectively. Nothing is worse than attempting to fall asleep while shivering and feeling cold.
4. Plan logically

5. BEFORE you get cold, wrap up!
It’s already too late if you start to get cold! Before you experience that icy air, you need to make sure you are properly dressed. Remember that you can always remove layers if you start to feel too warm, so try to be as warmly dressed as you can.
6. Warm those toes by sitting by the fire
One of the most popular past times is camping, which includes sitting around the fire and taking in the warmth and beauty of the crackling. Utilize the warmth the fire is producing so that you can stay warm even when you leave and lie down. (Always check your safety and completely extinguish your campfire before retiring for the night. Campfires should never be left unattended.
7. Don’t try to tough it out
When it comes to winter tent camping, the worst thing you can do is try to tough it out or not take it seriously. It’s important to be prepared for the cold weather and do some research so that you can respond to it appropriately.
