The Coziest Place on Earth: 20 Camping Hacks & Tricks to Make Your Tent

The Coziest Place on Earth: 20 Camping Hacks & Tricks to Make Your Tent

With the help of these camping tricks, tent camping need not include living in the wild. Your tent will be much more comfortable thanks to these tricks! With friends, family, delicious cuisine cooked over a campfire, and entertaining activities, camping SHOULD be a delight. The only way to properly enjoy camping tricks, according to some, is to sleep on the ground with nothing but a pillow and a blanket (and the blanket is also optional).

The good news is that you don’t have to rough it to have an unforgettable camping trip – these tent tricks will let you enjoy the great outdoors while also being cosy!

Oh, and I’m proud to say that I’m not one of those folks. I like to be able to fall asleep so I can appreciate all the potential adventures the following day. However, sleeping is difficult when all that stands between you and the ground is a tarp (and despite what some people may claim, grass doesn’t really make a difference).

Need an excellent, large family tent? – We have some recommendations!

Therefore, we have discovered some fantastic tent hacks to make your camping trip a bit more comfortable in an effort to assist other campers who share this opinion of sleeping on the ground with me.

Tent Tips For A Cozy Camping Experience

  1.  When Camping, Roll Your Clothes

You will undoubtedly come into contact with a lot of dirt while camping, for one thing. You don’t need to get dirty in your clean clothes. Roll your clothes according to the day so you may take everything you need for the day at once. Furthermore, it takes up less room in your pack. For those of us who can’t pack lightly, this is also a helpful travel tip.

Additionally, you can split your clothing into 2-gallon ziplock bags and name each bag with the day. This might be more useful for a brief camping trip.

2. Bag Your Toilet Paper

The last thing you want when mother nature strikes is for your toilet paper to get drenched in rain or soiled from an accidently dropped roll. Pack your toothbrush, toilet paper, and other personal hygiene supplies in bags for your camping vacation.

Regarding toilet paper…

3. Camping Scheduler

Forgetting something is the worst thing. Promise. There before. I’ve already done that. We forgot the toilet paper on one excursion! Never once more! The Camping Planner is well worth the $7 you paid for it, is the best in camping tricks! Your mental health is worth it!

4. Use a pool float as a sleeping pad while camping

SO SOFT! Take a pool float with you on your next camping trip if you already have one. We enjoy them since they deflate and take up little room when not in use. As an added bonus, our pool float fits the back car seat in our van, allowing our twins to sleep in the vehicle if it’s rainy or we have a tent problem, which, as we all know, nearly always arises at some point.

5. Building a Tent Foam Floor

Can’t stand the harsh ground beneath your tent? I won’t apologise for it, neither should you, and neither will I. Use foam floor tiles to soften the surface. The change it creates will astound you! Additionally, it effectively prevents mud and grime from getting on your floor.

A yoga mat works well as a bed as well. Compared to an air mattress or a foam floor, it is significantly less clumsy and takes up less room.

6. Using your water jug, make a tent light

Fill a jug with water, then wrap a headlamp around it to create a soothing light that will fill your tent all night long. For children and adults who are terrified of the dark, this camping light will make the tent a less frightening environment.

7. Use a hot water bottle to warm your sleeping bag

Have you ever had cold feet at night? To keep your toes warm, put a water bottle filled with hot water inside your sleeping bag. When I go camping, I always have Nalgene bottles with me. I prefer that particular brand because they are practically unbreakable and can withstand VERY hot water without melting. Therefore, NO COLD FEET!

f you have young kids, remove the bottle before they sleep – cause, well, hot water.

If you’d rather not snuggle up to a hot water bottle, pack the bottom of your sleeping bag with dry clothes. They’ll soak up any moisture at the bottom and keep your feet warm.

8. Sleeping bag straps made from children’s belts

Are you sick of fumbling with your sleeping bags in your tent? They cannot roll back up at all! After our sleeping bag strap broke, we discovered an even better fix! belt with adjusters for our son!

Now that he’s ten, our son can roll himself. The belt wraps around the roll, even though it’s not ideal… and after that, we can roll it back up tightly as necessary by cinching it down. Handy.

9. Maintain a shoe basket at the tent entrance

Who wants their tent to be dirty? Eww! Keep a shoe basket close to the entrance to collect muddy shoes and keep the floor of your tent clean. We also keep our sunscreen stick and bug spray in a basket so that they are simple to get when needed.

Kids will be reminded visually to spray their feet because ticks prefer to attach themselves to shoes and legs. With this brain trick, keep them secure all day.

10. Outside of your tent, use solar light stakes!

When you go camping, don’t you find that everything is just so dark? use the best camping tricks to Install some inexpensive solar lights outside the tent and along the path to the bathroom area to make navigation easier rather than stumbling in the dark. Your walkway will be illuminated with lanterns!

The ideal quantity of lighting is added by these without bothering your neighbors!

11. Light Up Your Tent to Make It Shine

Solar-powered twinkle lights are still another option for children (and adults) who are frightened of the dark. Just be careful not to hang them directly above children’s beds because you don’t want them to knock them over or tangle in them while they are sleeping. Actually, I would position them on the other side of the tent room.

12. Tent Zippers Should Be Waxed: This Is A Tent Hack I Wish I Knew Yesterday.

Rub tent zippers with a wax candle to prevent sticking. This trick actually functions with all zippers! However, because they are frequently folded and bunched up, tent zippers are particularly prone to issues. Additionally, the elements, which are not a zipper’s best friend, are exposed to them. The last thing you want is to arrive at your campsite and discover that you were unable to open your flaps, ruining your camping trip. Wax is beneficial. Promise.

13. Gear for Camping Should Be Hung in Tent

Use this gear line organizer to keep your phone, small pans, plastic soap bar, first aid kit, trash bag, and unused glow sticks from having to be dug among heaps of sleeping bags and pillows. An added bonus: bugs! Did you know that flying insects like mosquitoes and flies dislike flying underneath objects that are swinging above them? You’ll notice less bugs in your tent if you hang this near the entrance.

14. Use a laundry basket to make a tent trash can

Dealing with trash bags is annoying, but this hamper-based pop-up trash can is an excellent concept. (You might want to tie it to something with a rope to prevent it from blowing away.) Better yet, apply the same tactic inside the tent to store soiled clothing while you’re there. (Also, remember to separate or use distinct colored bags for your clean and dirty laundry. Otherwise, it will be difficult for you to separate your dirty clothes from your rubbish. Or just wondering what happened to your camping gear as it was probably wrecked, haha)

15. With This Cool Tent Trick, You’ll Stop Falling Over Tent Lines

Do you frequently trip over your tent lines because you don’t notice them until you are just in front of them? Ouch!!! Use pool noodles to mark the lines! Your feet will appreciate it. To make them visible, use pool noodles that are brightly colored.

16. A Tent Hack To Maintain Coolness

Use a reflective blanket to reflect sunlight to prevent your tent from getting uncomfortable hot. This tent hack may seem a little goofy, but it actually works! And because this is some actual science in action, you’d be making your science teacher SO PROUD.

17. Tent flaps can be kept closed with binder clips

Can’t keep the tent open? Binder clips can be used to keep your tent flaps open. Use them to fasten a tarp or plastic sheet over the top, secure the rain flaps open, or affix tent decorations.

You’d be surprised at what these tiny clips can accomplish, by the way. See what I mean by using these binder clip tips.

18. Prepare some delicious campfire fare

Our extensive range of camping food suggestions will keep your outdoor trip fuelled. Grab your salt and pepper shakers, spoon, fork, or spork, and get ready for a simple feast over the campfire.

Remember that there aren’t many tents large enough for your king-size pillow-top mattress, so you’ll have to make some compromises no matter what.

19. The fun never stops with camping games

You went camping to have a good time! Include some of our favorite camping games that the whole family will enjoy to make the experience even better.

20. DIY Fire Starters to the Rescue for the Campfire

We have a long list of the greatest fire starters you can construct, including everything from dryer lint to kindling bundles. No matter the weather, you can light a campfire or charcoal grill with one of these ingenious methods.

But if you don’t want to, you don’t have to live in the wild entirely. As you can see, you have many of suggestions for how to make your camping experience better so you can concentrate on more essential things like creating lasting memories.

Conclusion

When it comes to camping, everyone has a different opinion. Whether you want to live in comfort with luxurious amenities or enjoy the simple outdoor lifestyle without spending much, there are countless ways of making your tent more comfortable and enjoyable. For some campers, sleeping on the ground without even a blanket can be an amazing experience!
Some say that this is because they get enough rest while others just appreciate being able to stretch out their legs after walking all day. Whatever your reason for wanting to sleep on the ground, we hope you find these 20 camping tricks helpful!
